Your mission is to write the story of what this future Lanna looks like and Si Hu Ha Ta and Tua Mom's adventures in this land.

Is it a place still reeling from climate change, or one that's trying to find new ways to live in harmony with nature? Is it a world of robots, flying cars, or floating cities, powered by clean energy instead of pollution? How can Si Hu Ha Ta and Tua Mom use their special powers to help this future society find clever new ways to protect its forests, rivers, and wildlife?

What the judges will be looking for

How we’ll choose the winning stories

Caring for our planet

We want your story to show how your characters protect and care for the environment in the future. Have you heard the story of Si Hu Ha Ta or Tua Mom from your grandparents, aunts, or other family members? Ask them what these stories teach us about living in balance with nature and about community harmony. Then, imagine how those lessons could help solve environmental challenges of the future, like climate change, pollution, or disappearing forests. How might your hero protect the planet using courage, kindness, and cleverness?

Word count

Aim for around 750 words. A little more or less is totally fine!

Originality

We love creativity! We're looking for stories that use the heart and characters of these folktales in a fun, imaginative, and original way. Don't be afraid to take the story somewhere unexpected!

Good storytelling

Your story should be well-written and easy to follow from beginning to end — with a clear start, middle, and end.
